Via Ferrata del Barranc de la Foig

The via ferrata del Barranc de la Foig is the perfect choice for people who has never done a via ferrata before. It goes through an abrupt and steep ravine just above the Tivissa village consisting of different sections with different heights and technical steps that will test your skills from the start.

The difficulty is modest (K2) without underestimating the verticality of the route but the equipment has been perfectly set up making this via Ferrata ideal for a first contact with the world of via ferrata.

This is an ideal choice for hot summer days because the vertical walls of the sides of the ravine provide good shade and a pleasant breeze.

The approach for this via ferrata is excellent: a 10 minutes walk on flat  and easy terrain will lead us directly to the first section of the ferrata.

There are two options for descending: the direct option that brings us right to the starting point by a very vertical path with fixed ropes, or the comfortable option: indirect but more enjoyable for you to enjoy the views of the whole Ribera d’Ebre, from the Sierra del Montsant, Serra de Prades and Llaberia mountain range to the Sierra de Cardó , Mont Caro and Ports de Tortosa.
